Wonderful to hear Cynthia's story. I very much appreciate the observation she makes about how embedding an undefined term like "gender identity" into Maine law has effectively destroyed it as a tool to set and enforce limits on human behavior. (It reminds me of Helen Joyce's many statements about how sticking an undefined term into an equation breaks the entire thing.)
There is a term going around on X lately (link to an example below), which perfectly describes what we get when any governing authority shrugs off its responsibility to set up and maintain barriers between predators who engage in anti-social behaviors and the individuals upon whom they prey: Anarcho-Tyranny. The authorities in charge of Maine's prisons for women are imposing a state of Anarcho-Tyranny. Under irresponsible leaders imposing broken rules, the strong rule-breakers are untouched, while those so weak that they must be the rule-abiding suffer.
Post modernism was the brainchild of pedophiles and other psychotically resentful and malevolent individuals, an elaborate rationalization of monstrous urges. And its product, Queer Theory, attracts the shiftless and craven who need a way to anesthetize their consciences.
Hearing of this male animal's private suite and kid glove treatment really burns me up, because his presence in that women's prison (even if he no longer has physical access to any of the other women in there) is still predatory simply because money is fungible. His privileges get allotted a larger portion of what I am sure is limited funding than what is devoted to accommodations for the female prisoners. From an accounting standpoint, it's patently unfair as well.
I certainly hope none of the judges who sentenced the women to serve time in a Maine prison thought they were imposing the punishment of 24x7 terrorization by a murderous man, but that is effectively what they have done because of willfully ignorant and shiftless bureaucrats and worthless legislators.
Thanks for fighting the good fight, Cynthia! This was yet another episode of Informed Dissent where I had to keep taking breaks because I found the subject matter so enraging.
Great episode. I resonate with Ms Dill’s passion about what gender beliefs do to kids. Later, Jamie and she lament that there is no open discussion among Democrats. I found earlier this year that I couldn't even have an open and curious discussion about gender beliefs with my longtime therapist in a private session. She reacted almost as if I'd done something dangerous by trying to share my contrary views to hers. I am still shocked at how that went, and it was months ago.
So glad you are shining a light on this shameful situation. Women’s sports is the current battleground for obvious reasons, but this is far more important. I find it shocking that the feminists I am close to either justify this or refuse to believe it is happening.
Jamie - thanks for another high-quality, informative episode! Cynthia Dill powerfully describes the terrible results for women when the subjective, undefined, and seemingly innocuous category of “gender identity” is inserted into state constitutions.
Excellent interview with our Cynthia Dill who's a star member of our little NEWS group (https://newomen.org) New England Women's Solidarity. A Civil Rights lawyer who left the Dem party over the inability of the left to face the harms of gender identity especially for females and kids. I live for the day that Jamie Reed interviews me on the denial of sex in higher education! :-)
Everything Cynthia said was exactly what needed to be said, and she expressed it beautifully.
It almost feels as if she's a visitor from a much saner place and era.
Cynthia: Welcome! I recognize you in my heart, and am grateful for you.

“Dissent that is worth something because it’s actually informed.”
It sure would be nice if our world had more of that. Thank you for adopting that as a part of your program. ♥️

Great episode!
A great interview with Cynthia, I didn't know that she had a podcast.
Look at those girl hands. Maybe hand amputation should be the newest "gender affirming" surgery.
So great!
Thank you, Jamie, thank you, Cynthia, thank you everyone who's been fighting the "trans" cult.
